Trends in Workplace Utilisation

There is much debate amongst those involved in workspace management as to how workspace is being utilised. Since the start of the recent economic downturn, the subject of workplace utilisation has been on the agenda. London is once again leading the charge in terms of cost per square footage with Cushman and Wakefield reporting earlier this year that costs can range from 170 to 55, double those of New York, Paris and Sidney. Although there is an economic driver, particularly for those organisations based in those cities to reduce the amount of real estate allocated to individuals, it is recognised that there is a significant benefit in re purposing space in order to integrate more collaborative work.

At the beginning of 2013, Asure Software undertook a survey of workplace managers around the globe. The objective was to further understand workplace utilisation, the challenges in managing shared workspace and the trends for the future.
