How can you help your hotel achieve its potential? Search engines are built for one reason - to show the people who use them the content they want to see. They are not there for businesses to show off their websites. They look for pages which aren’t just relevant, but which engage with people and are active with their users. This is where you come in.

Websites provide online businesses with an unprecedented level of contact with customers and end users. However, they also place business information where it can be easily accessed by third parties – often using automated tools known as “bots”. For many organizations, bots represent up to 50% or more of their overall website traffic, from good bots engaged in essential business tasks to bad bots conducting fraudulent activities. Regardless of business impact, bot traffic can reduce website performance for legitimate users and increase IT costs. Organizations need a flexible framework to better manage their interaction with different categories of bots and the impact that bots have on their business and IT infrastructure.

As mobile device usage has skyrocketed in recent years, mobile applications have emerged as the key engagement channel for businesses to connect with their most loyal and most valuable customers. Mobile app usage represents more than 85% of total mobile device time, and users now spend more time with apps than they do with television. But while app usage has increased more than 60% over the last two years, the number of apps each user actively engages with has remained fairly steady, at around 27 per month. This means users have a limited appetite for additional apps – but are heavily engaged with the ones they use. So while the mobile web gives businesses broad reach, mobile apps offer a robust link to their best customers. Users who value the company enough to go through the trouble of downloading and installing the app are a brand’s most engaged audience and loyal fan base.

Business applications have become the battleground for customer loyalty. To compete, IT organizations are under pressure to deliver applications faster and with higher quality. Continuous Delivery (CD) of code offers a solution. CD may be paired with DevOps, Agile and other methodologies. However, QA and testing can be an obstacle to CD’s rapid development and deployment of high quality code. Testers and developers must engage in Continuous Testing, continuously testing software for performance, quality and user experience as it’s being developed. Continuous Testing is not a push button process, though. It requires a comprehensive approach. This paper outlines the common challenges to Continuous Testing and highlights results from real users who have used technology to get to succeed with the Continuous Testing process.

Over 4.1 Billion users around the world are on instant messaging apps, adopted a rate that was much faster than on social networks. Business users are a key part of a company\'s security, and even the most conscientious employees can introduce serious breaches of security policy. IT can do everything in its power to secure the company\'s confidential documents--provide first-class security infrastructure, develop reasonable security policies and engage in extensive communication and training--yet still people fail to comply. The solution is to provide security that helps people do their jobs more efficiently, thereby inducing users to follow best security practices without even knowing it.

Effective Competition Depends on Continuous Delivery of Quality Software In today’s application economy every company is a software company, no matter what industry it is in: • Shipping companies depend on logistics software to efficiently route packages, arrange drivers and automate warehouses. • Retail companies rely on software to manage inventory, engage with customers online and to give in-store associates the tools they need to answer customer questions on the spot. • Marketing firms lean on applications to gather consumer data and parse it, automate communication with prospects and effectively manage advertising campaigns. The examples are endless. The point is that in order to compete today, every business must be able to quickly build and tweak software to adjust to always evolving market demands. Ultimately, business success depends on faster development iterations while still maintaining the high quality of service expected by customers, stakeholders and end users.

Hotels and the travelers who frequent them bear little resemblance to their counterparts from just a few years ago. The explosion of new technologies has allowed hotels to change the way they operate and has made the average traveler more techsavvy and connected than ever. Mobile devices are driving this innovation. Not only have mobile devices changed how people interact with each other, they also have changed how people expect businesses to engage with them. According to SmartBrief, 40 percent of hotel guests carry three or more mobile devices. And with global mobile data traffic growing 30 percent every year according to Cisco, there will be an estimated 4.9 billion mobile users by 2018. When these mobile users travel, will they choose your hotel? Only if you have the mobile amenities they demand. In this white paper, we will review three mobile trends that every hotelier should address, and we’ll offer recommendations on how to best address them.

An effective messaging strategy means targeting the right users with the right message at the right time and place. Failing to do so leads to customers mentally, or literally, unsubscribing from you. From the makers of Intercom, a customer communications platform, this book teaches you how to increase customer engagement in three ways: 1. Define the audience for your message by segmenting users according to behavior and action. 2. Craft a message for maximum impact; what voice, tone, format, and language to use. 3. Discern the right way and the right time for a message and know what you can do to ensure it is received in the most appropriate setting and in the most appropriate context.

In a three-year retrospective study that analyzed health care claims and wearable device data from a self-insured employer, Springbuk looked at the potential impact of Fitbit technology as part of a wellness program. The analysis shows that connected health and fitness interventions can close the gap between the everyday actions that change health and drive outcomes for employee health and employer cost. Some of the key findings include: * Employees who opted into the Fitbit program demonstrated significant cost savings when compared to the control group. * Engaged users cost less than non-engaged users. * The opportunity for cost savings is potentially the highest with less active individuals.

The benefits of addressing the image suppression issue are significant. A recent controlled study by SubscriberMail demonstrated the response improvements gained by optimizing an email message to have impact even when images are not displayed. In this study, an email message that was not optimized for image suppression was sent to a test panel of approximately 50,000 subscribers. Simultaneously, a panel of similar makeup received a version of the same message optimized for non-graphical display. Compared to the non-optimized version, the optimized version saw an 87 percent increase in clicks.
