The Cloud; software as service across the Internet, is experiencing mass proliferation for everything from banking to CRM. Communications are part of this migration and offer a compelling solution over the retro, hardware-based systems known as PBX. This paper illustrates comparative anatomies of the old and new models. Major benefits of cloud communications are detailed, including the elimination of costs, removal of complexity for managing the system, alleviating IT resources, and the benefits of one system with a host of features. A deep-dive of the technology supporting the solution is included.

In addition to a 435 percent overall return on an Azure IaaS investment*, the businesses also experienced: Reduced data center and outsourcing costs. Website scale and performance improvements. Ease of experimentation through virtualized environments. Developer and tester improvements. Download the study to learn about the potential ROI that could be realized by shifting some or all of your management and operations to Azure.

Driven by easy-to-consume infrastructure and services, the adoption of public cloud surged in 2018. As a result, enterprises are seeking cost management solutions tools to curb waste, optimize cloud costs, and increase transparency. However, businesses must also factor the cost of licensed software into this equation, otherwise they may leave significant savings on the table. The ""Software License Management as a Critical Part of Cloud Cost Optimization"" white paper by industry analyst Enterprise Management Associates explores the consequences of not considering software license costs when deploying in the cloud and pinpoints why it occurs. Connecting to a database requires a number of independent layers. The application needs to incorporate software that establishes the connection and calls to the database. A database connectivity layer needs to be in place to help manage security, communications, and data flow with the database. The database has a set of interfaces that help translate the client requests into actions within the database engine. And with the advent of .NET, the costs of managed versus non-managed code must also be considered.

You can't afford to ignore email archiving, security, internal policy or regulatory requirements, but can you afford to keep paying for it as multiple systems on top of your email system? When you add up the full price tag for your email environment, from server to soft ware to risk management and staff costs, it becomes clear why running everything in-house can mean you spend far more of your budget on maintenance than innovation.

Concentric Hosted Exchange is a fast, reliable and affordable solution for email, calendaring, collaboration, and mobility based on Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Microsoft Outlook® 2007. Concentric Hosted Exchange provides all of the benefits of Microsoft Exchange and Outlook 2007 without the up-front infrastructure costs or ongoing overhead.

Email has become something of a critical utility, much like the electricity that powers our offices: it must be available 24 hours a day, it must provide reliable performance, and its cost must be reasonable. However, unlike electrical systems (at least from the user’s perspective), email systems require significant amounts of labor to manage well. Email systems must periodically be upgraded. New hardware must be introduced as organizations migrate to new systems. Security must be maintained and upgraded to protect the system from intrusions. Additional hardware must be deployed to protect against outages that could seriously harm user productivity. Plus, unexpected events, such as spam storms or natural disasters can drive up costs substantially in ways that were not anticipated.
