The healthcare payer ecosystem in the United States has changed dramatically over the last decade and is expected to evolve at an even faster pace over the next few years. Many world-class companies involved in healthcare payment processing are finding themselves constrained by their existing information technology infrastructure. The silos that they built around business-to-business (B2B) processing are constraining them, making it difficult to achieve governmental mandates and (more importantly) increase processing efficiency and competitive advantage. Gone are the days of a small set of data following static and simple standards traded between a limited set of organizations. Gone are the days where the rules for when data is valid versus invalid can expressed in a paragraph or two. Gone are the days when information about a healthcare payment was almost entirely about the "who," "when," and "how much."

Learning content is an investment and with most companies having a portfolio of over $18 million tied up in content, this represents a significant investment. Unfortunately, this investment depreciates at an alarming rate. In fact, most content is completely unusable for any number of reasons after only four years. Infopro Learning has created a guide that helps companies to extend the shelf life of their content using a modernization strategy. This strategy not only applies to the one-time effort of updating legacy content, but it also provides information about how to future-proof new content. In addition, companies that follow the modernization strategy can significantly decrease content production costs and timelines by leveraging evergreen content that already exists in their training portfolio.

The 2019 version of High Performance Computing (HPC) has changed considerably from previous years’. Most notably, advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) has given rise to data-centric applications in machine learning. Machine learning often relies on HPC technologies, particularly in the early training phase, and in many cases, machine learning initiatives share infrastructure, budgets, and personnel with established HPC installations. A 2018 Intersect360 Research study found that the majority of experienced HPC users had also embarked on machine learning applications, usually overlapping HPC and AI.

Infrastructure considerations for IT leaders By 2020, deep learning will have reached a fundamentally different stage of maturity. Deployment and adoption will no longer be confined to experimentation, becoming a core part of day-to-day business operations across most fields of research and industries. Why? Because advancements in the speed and accuracy of the hardware and software that underpin deep learning workloads have made it both viable and cost-effective. Much of this added value will be generated by deep learning inference – that is, using a model to infer something about data it has never seen before. Models can be deployed in the cloud or data center, but more and more we will see them on end devices like cameras and phones. Intel predicts that there will be a shift in the ratio between cycles of inference and training from 1:1 in the early days of deep learning, to well over 5:1 by 2020¹. Intel calls this the shift to ‘inference at scale’ and, with inference also taking up
