The prevalent use of paints and coatings across many industries and organizations presents a variety of workplace hazards. In many cases, selection and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary to help control exposures. Respiratory and skin contact hazards are common across most applications. Depending on the type of paint or coating and the specific use conditions, other hazards may be present.
