In this paper, I’ll answer that question – by describing a more disruptive model of customer service and, where applicable, explaining how Salesforce can support that model.

In a data environment that’s become increasingly centralized by public cloud services, the “edge” is emerging as a critical solution for reducing latency for network-based services. Consumption habits of services and the need for analytics are shifting beyond core population centers, becoming local and even hyper-local within a region or city. As the online population continues to grow and new services emerge, the ability to handle data traffic securely – close to the customer or application – will become a common pattern for the new service evolution.

Financial services businesses face unprecedented market challenges. Disruption from Fintech firms, increased local and international regulation, geo- political upheavals and wavering customer loyalty. The need to fully understand the market, to innovate, to reduce costs and be more competitive has never been greater, and this is where AI can help. According to one fintech research company, by 2030 the financial services sector could reduce operational costs using AI, by as much as 22%. It suggests that will equate to around $1 trillion in efficiencies. So, from a purely operational point of view, doing nothing is not really an option for companies that want to remain competitive. Today, financial services firms across the board need to rejuvenate customer experience to protect against client attrition, and protect those customers against risk. The healthcare industry is evolving at a rapid pace from both technology and business perspectives. New technologies are dramatically improving healthcare, from diagnostic imaging and scanning tools to the digitization of medical records. From the business side, the industry continues to consolidate, with metropolitan or regional medical providers absorbing local clinics and rural practices, and large retailers acquiring pharmacies, minute clinics, and urgent care facilities. As a result, many healthcare companies are now competing with retailers for business. This competition may be good for the customers (i.e., the patients) who are demanding higher levels of care and a better overall experience. This could mean better access to new diagnostic tests, test results, and specialists who may be located far from the patient’s location. Healthcare providers need to work toward providing the same care and experience to customers in their main facilities as they do in distributed clinics, ur

Improving the customer experience is a strategic imperative for most organizations today, but delivering an engaging experience across the growing number of digital customer touch points can be a daunting challenge. Organizations must deliver responsive experiences that “play well” on smartphones, PCs, and tablets. They must publish content to installed app experiences on mobile and other connected devices, to social channels, and to email campaigns. They must manage global sites in different languages, localize the experience for different markets, and — increasingly — personalize the experience for different customer personas or segments. A modern digital experience management platform is essential for any organization hoping to make digital experience delivery a core competency. IDC interviewed organizations using Adobe Experience Manager Sites (AEM Sites) to understand the impact of the platform on their ability to create, manage, and deliver digital experiences. Research shows that today’s in-store purchases tend to begin and end online. Even ready-tobuy consumers research online for nearby stores, go in-store to buy, and often leave a review about their experience. In turn, those reviews influence the purchasing decisions of your future customers. This makes it crucial for businesses to have a voice in those conversations, monitoring and responding to reviews and comments.

Did you know that for 88% of shoppers, the first step to a local purchase is often an online search? If you want customers to find you, you must have a consistent, rich and engaging online brand that is equally optimized for both desktop and mobile SEO, and that contains long tail keywords for voice search assistants like Siri, Alexa, Cortana, and Google Voice. Be sure to claim and regularly maintain your listings for every widely used portal and social site, and create a separate locator page for every single location—so that you show up at the top of all local searches.

In the midst of an overwhelming amount of disruption taking place in the retail banking industry, a clear path to success has emerged. Banks that want to continue to gain and retain loyal customers must make it easier to bank with them. According to a survey that included 760 different banks and credit unions, the most important priority for 2017 and beyond is the removal of friction from the customer journey.1 To clarify, today’s customer journey includes both the customer experience at local branch locations as well as their experience while interacting with websites, mobile apps, smart watches, and anything else that is connected to the Internet. The battleground for customers has shifted to the digital world, and retail banks must adapt quickly as crafty Fintech startups and tech giants like Amazon, Apple, and Google continue to push the limits of what is possible with technology. If digital channels aren’t approached correctly, they can add complexity to the customer experience in

Consumers expect a seamless, high-quality experience in today’s mature app economy. They want brands to keep up with new technologies like geo-fencing and personalization, as well as the latest ecosystems like voice assistants and connected cars. With this high bar for quality, QA organizations often struggle to keep up with: 1. Rapid Release Schedules 2. Personalization 3. New Technologies (Voice, AI) 4. Geo-Awareness and Localization 5. Device Fragmentation 6. Unexpected Customer Use Cases The cost of failure is high in QA. Time, money, and customer loyalty are all at risk when digital experiences don’t meet users’ high expectations.
