All accounting procedures, especially remittance and AR/AP processing, are critical to any organization’s financial well-being. Manual data entry of invoices is an inefficient, expensive, labor intensive and often errorprone process. Slow and mistake-laden document processing lengthens payment cycles, reduces staff productivity, adds late payment penalties and causes missed early payment discounts

Near-perfect inventory visibility is critical to transforming the customer experience and competing in the retail revolution. Yet inventory accuracy across retail sectors hovers at around 60%. That shortfall causes retailers to lose out on potential sales and puts customer loyalty at risk. How do retailers address this issue? RFID—or radio frequency identification—is 10 times more efficient at cycle counting and can increase inventory accuracy across the supply chain by up to 99.5%, enabling retailers to truly compete in the highly competitive omnichannel world. Launch a successful RFID technology pilot program in your retail operation with our free How-to Guide: Five Steps to Piloting RFID for Unprecedented Inventory Visibility. This guide takes you from Step 1 (a KPI checklist) to Step 5 (execution and monitoring), so you can launch a pilot program and effectively measure its ROI before moving to full deployment. Businesses need to plan for unforeseen events that can disrupt productivity, impair the customer experience, and possibly even threaten a business’s existence. A disruption every business needs to plan for is any event that destroys valuable data, inhibits access to data, or causes downtime of core applications. Consider the staggering amount of information your company stores electronically. What if an unforeseen event destroyed all financial records, client contacts, and application data? You wouldn’t be able to send customers accurate invoices. Your marketing efforts might be undermined. You would lack key metrics for measuring quality, profitability, and more. The losses could be staggering. In every aspect of life, it’s smart to plan for unexpected events. That’s especially true for two plans every business must have: a disaster recovery plan and a business continuity plan.

One of the most frustrating aspects of the measurement of severe pyroshock events is the acceleration offset that almost invariably occurs. Dependent on its magnitude, this can result in large, low-frequency errors in both shock response spectra (SRS) and velocity-based damage analyses. Fortunately, recent developments in accelerometer technology, signal conditioning, and data acquisition systems have reduced these errors significantly. Best practices have been demonstrated to produce offset errors less than 0.25% of Peak-Peak value in measured near-field pyrotechnic accelerations: a remarkable achievement. This paper will discuss the sensing technologies, including both piezoelectric and piezoresistive, that have come together to minimize these offsets. More important, it will document the many other potential contributors to these offsets. Included among these are accelerometer mounting issues, cable and connector sources, signal conditioning amplitude range/bandwidth, and digitizi

Changes in a number of areas are transforming business telephony. These changes have varying causes: advances in IP communication technology, the explosion of mobile communication, the growth of cloud-based services, and the proliferation of video conferencing, to name a few. The changes have affected small companies in big ways. In particular, they have given SMBs access to communication capabilities formerly reserved for large companies. But they also have growing potential to affect enterprises. Thus the failure to keep on top of them can leave even the biggest companies at risk of falling behind.

Industrial enterprises around the world are retooling their factories with advanced technologies to boost manufacturing flexibility and speed, achieving new levels of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), supply chain responsiveness, and customer satisfaction in the process. This renaissance reflects very real pressures industry players face today. For years, traditional factories have been operating at a disadvantage, impeded by production environments that are “disconnected”—at the very least strictly gated—to corporate business systems, to supply chains, and to customers and partners. Managers of these traditional factories say the feeling is akin to flying blind. These are operations where plant floors, front offices, and suppliers operate in independent silos, where managers have only hazy visibility into downtime and quality problems, and where the root causes of inefficiencies are rarely understood or addressed.
